Direct Debit not changed

I have just been called by PayPal as my minimum payment for PayPal Credit hadn't been made. I changed my DD to more than cover the minimum payment, and have an email to confirm when I did and when the payment date was - I couldn't prove this at the time as I wasn't at my computer. It appears this wasn't changed according to my instructions and I've gone over my payment date and had to make an extra payment. How can I be sure this won't happen again, do i just try and amend the DD again?

I have just tried changing my DD. Said it would be applied from 29th November - yesterday!!!! Go back to it and it's back at the old lower amount. It also says "We'll never transfer more than your last statement balance or less than the minimum payment due." which is clearly rubbish.
