I’ve also noticed this too, I went to check my bank account and money for something I bought on eBay hasn’t left my account so I checked PayPal and noticed the split this option under the transaction

Im new to PayPal and found the split me and no money left my account - whats going on?

All it is, is a way to request money eg you pay a bill for a group of friends and then click on 'split this' to send a money request for their share of that bill.

Pretty useless feature in my opinion but hey ho some may use it

@kernowlass - that makes sense, especially if you are one of five people buying hundreds of 18650 batteries from Japan, this makes sure that all 5 people get an equal portion of the bill.
