unsure if i received a legit email

i have recently received an email from an email address which is not permitted in this community and was unsure if legit as i had sold my laptop to this person and got this email back

but as i'm unable to login to my account which is a separate issue which i hope to resolve tomorrow morning i cant check wether or not i recived the £650

Thank you for your post! I'm sorry to hear that you believe that you have received a fake email. It is best to look at other clues and indicators to determine if an email is a fake email, since the email address can be spoofed to look as if it is coming from PayPal.

If there is no transaction listed in your PayPal transaction history that corresponds with the email amount, that would be a good indication that it is not legitimate.
