unauthorised email address added

I recently received an email saying I'd added this email address to my account, obviously I haven't.

(I can't add the email account here, it's come up as an error, but includes '<removed>)

When I tried to log it as a problem with paypal, the message said an iphone in California had tried to log in to my paypal account (which i have never visited).  I was then asked to confirm all my details which I am reluctant to do in case this gave them away and now when I try to log  the problem, I get a screen saying '301 Moved Permanently'. What is the best advice - should I delete the initial email or do I need to continue to log this as a problem, including confirming my details?

Best advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

If its a spoof, DO NOT USE ANY LINK.

Firstly if the email/ text addressed you as ''Dear Member'' / ''Customer'' / ''Client'' OR your ''email address'' then that confirms its a spoof as paypal would address you by your full name eg Dear John Smith.

Secondly if there was a link OR attachment in that email link to ''cancel'' any transaction or ''confirm'' any details then again it would be a spoof.

If there was a problem with your account Paypal would not ask you to click on an unsafe link in an email or by downloading an attachment, they would direct you to log in normally and go to the resolution or the message centre for more information.
