hi 

i rarely use paypal but have received a text stating that a payment to Manish Singh for 130 quid has been blocked and to login to my paypal, obviously i didnt login using the link on the text, i logged in on my other divice and there are no transactions for months! any thoughts?

I got this text message too - I assumed it was a phishing attempt as "Pay Pal" was two separate words. My name wasn't used on the text.

If its a spoof, NEVER USE ANY LINK.

Firstly if the email/text addressed you as ''Dear Member'' / ''Customer'' / ''Client'' OR your ''email address'' then that confirms its a spoof as paypal would address you by your full name eg Dear John Smith.

Secondly if there was a link OR attachment in that email/text to ''cancel'' any transaction or ''confirm'' any details then again it would be a spoof.

If there was a problem with your account Paypal would not ask you to click on an unsafe link in an email or by downloading an attachment, they would direct you to log in normally and go to the resolution or the message centre for more information.

thanks

it used my name and when i typed the address given on the text in to my other device it took me to the paypal login, but there is nothing showing atall! no messages or anything stating this has happened. ... confused.
