I'm sorry to hear that you've received what sounds like it might be a spoof email. If the email says that you've received a payment and asks you to supply tracking information in order to receive the payment, it's not a legitimate email. If you open a fresh browser window without following any links and type in PayPal.com, you can log in safely that way and check your transaction history for the payment. Even if the payment is held with delayed Funds Availability, the transaction will show up there.
