pay pal fees

I understand that e bay charges a final fee for a sold item...and then that;s that...but why does Pay Pal charge anything for my sale on e bay ???

How would they run the service and pay their staff if they didn't charge?

Ebay and Paypal are 2 separate companies.

You pay Ebay to advertise and sell your item and pay a listing and final value fee etc, those fees are invoiced to you on a monthly basis.

You pay Paypal to process instant payments from buyers for you including from credit cards, those fees are deducted from your buyers payment immediately they pay and the rest credited to your balance.
