confused about requesting money fees

Hi -- am about to request money from a friend who will pay me via his PayPal account (bank is linked).   Will I be charged 2.9% for receiving the money?

If the sender and receiver both have US PayPal Accounts and the sender uses the Send Money feature and selects the "Friends and Family" option and uses either the money in their PayPal Account Balance or bank account - there are no fees.

If you are using a money request in your paypal account then yes.

If you are requesting money via a friends / family paypal.me account then no.

Best to get your mate to use the send money option and use the friends / family option. If they don't fund it from a card but use their bank account or funds in their paypal balance then there is no fee.
