Your PayPal account will be closed in 7 days: Is This Fake or Genuine!?

I have received several email saying:

Your PayPal account will be closed in 60 days

We don't want to say goodbye.

Your PayPal account will be closed in 7 days

We don't want to say goodbye.

etc.

These seem genuine, as:

They are addressed to me by name.
Contain my email address.

and contain various links that all seem to point to PayPal

I have seen many enquirers about this type of email online, but generally the only advice given,

points the enquirer to a standard page that lists the obvious things to look out for on a fake email.

But no-one from PayPal will make it clear if these are fake or genuine!

And they wonder why people consistently get ripped off!

Does anyone know for sure?

If its a spoof, NEVER USE ANY LINK.

Firstly if the email/text addressed you as ''Dear Member'' / ''Customer'' / ''Client'' OR your ''email address'' then that confirms its a spoof as paypal would address you by your full name eg Dear John Smith.

Secondly if there was a link OR attachment in that email/text to ''cancel'' any transaction or threaten suspension or ''confirm'' any details then again it would be a spoof.

If there was a problem with your account Paypal would not ask you to click on an unsafe link in an email or by downloading an attachment, they would direct you to log in normally and go to the resolution or the message centre for more information.
