Material from PayPal says verified status is important because it lets others know you’re legit. Where is this information available? How does one know if another member is verified?

When you get a payment email from paypal it will tell you whether the buyer is verified or not and whether you are eligable for seller protection etc.
It happens. Hit the "Login to Ask the community" button to create a question for the PayPal community.
