What protection does PayPal offer

I want to pay for private accommodation for America. The trip is in 6 months time but I need to pay now. Does PayPal offer any protection (for example: I get there and the place doesn't exist) as I wouldn't know if there was a problem for at least 6 months. Thanks,

Paypal buyer protection is for 180 days.
