What is 'spilt this' ?

I have a few questions but will start with  =  Can anyone explain what 'spilt this' means - sorry if it's a daft question but I can't work it out

Its just another way to request money.
If you pay a bill and your friends want to chip in you can click on it and request their share from them.
Absolute complete waste of time in my opinion.

It confused me as it was under a payment made by some who'd bought an item off my e-bay

But obviously I'll just ignore it
