Warning: Fraud from people pretending to be paypal

Hello, heads up! Yesterday I got an email saying "my paypal account had been limited" as "I did not respond to a previous notification". The address header was "service at paypal.com" but later I learned the real address is [removed]. So I got worried and clicked on the link provided without knowing the real address it came from. Well touche, it is a scam. They asked to confirm a credit card and boom...they made a charge for $809.45 from Project Pure Linited from Holland and then a charge for $761.49 from Chanel SAS in Holland! So be careful, this criminals are tricky it is a scam, a big fraud! I would ask paypal to communicate this as a warning to all users so nobody else gets robbed!

Been going on for years and paypal do warn you in the links below.

NEVER USE ANY LINK.

Firstly if the email/text addressed you as ''Dear Member'' / ''Customer'' / ''Client'' OR your ''email address'' then that confirms its a spoof as paypal would address you by your full name eg Dear John Smith.

Secondly if there was a link OR attachment in that email/text to ''cancel'' any transaction or ''confirm'' any details then again it would be a spoof.

If there was a problem with your account Paypal would not ask you to click on an unsafe link in an email or by downloading an attachment, they would direct you to log in normally and go to the resolution or the message centre for more information.
