Verify Idenity text on phone

I got a reconfirm my identity text on my phone to which I only use my PC for pay pal. I think its a scam as I logged into my account on my PC and there was no message to me about it. Is this a scam?

SMS SPAM can be more than just annoying as it may contain suspicious content.
Many carriers help you report SPAM by simply forwarding the message to ‘7726’ (which is the keys for ‘SPAM’ on most phones).
If you happened to click on any of the links in the emails, please change your PayPal password and security questions soon by following the steps listed here.
