Paypal is revoking its buyer's protection in the case of Canadians purchasing products in US$. PayPal charges anywhere from 2.5% to 3.0% to convert Cdn$ funds to US$. If there is a problem and the vendor fails to live up to its claims for its product, a PayPal buyer can cancel the transaction. If so, PayPal will refund using the exchange rate at the time of cancellation. I understand PayPal is protecting itself from extreme fluctuations in exchange rates. I can deal with that. But what **bleep** ME OFF is that PayPal will charge me its conversion-rate fee twice. On a refund which cost Cdn$500, I will get only Cdn$440 to Cdn$450 back. This amounts to a 5% to 6% carrying charge. How many times has the US-Canadian exchange rate varied by that much? This isn't buyer protection. That is outright robbery!!!
