I'm in Vancouver, Canada and we charge GST (tax) of 5% to clients. I noticed recently that the tax amount is off. So let's say the subtotal is $465 then it makes sense that if I add 5% tax ($23.25), the final total would be $488.25. However, if I do this through PayPal invoicing, the subtotal is $465, the tax is $25.75, and the final total is $490.75. I don't understand how 5% of $465 is $25.75. What am I missing? I did the math via my calculator and I also did it through the numbers program on the Mac that automatically calculates the numbers when I add in the formula.
