Suspicious text message

This morning at 4am I received a text message that is from <removed> suggesting a suspicious PayPal payment as been made and asking me to click on their link to verify the information. Needless to say I am 99.9% sure this is a phisihng link  so I haven’t clicked on it but I just wanted to check that this was correct? I have checked my account using a direct login and there is nothing there to see.

Yep sounds like a typical spoof so NEVER USE ANY LINK.

Firstly if the email/text addressed you as ''Dear Member'' / ''Customer'' / ''Client'' OR your ''email address'' then that confirms its a spoof as paypal would address you by your full name eg Dear John Smith.

Secondly if there was a link OR attachment in that email/text to ''cancel'' any transaction or ''confirm'' any details then again it would be a spoof.

If there was a problem with your account Paypal would not ask you to click on an unsafe link in an email or by downloading an attachment, they would direct you to log in normally and go to the resolution or the message centre for more information.

just recieved a text ending in "03" and read "PayPal:Your account is undergoing review please visit; link removed to remove block".  Logged into my account separately and thankfully nothing is out of place.  Blocked the number.
