Sending a payment with my uk debit card to US account fees

Sending a payment with my uk debit card to someone's us account and it says there are no fees when paying by debit card but the fee is still at the checkout. If I go ahead will I be charged?

If its an international transaction then you would pay currency conversion OR cross border fees.

There is an extra $5 fee there and this is what it says 'There's no fee if you use your debit card, PayPal balance or bank account. There's a small fee when you pay using a credit card.' And I'm paying by debit but the fee is still there.

Did you read my post?

There is no fee for UK > UK payments if you use a debit card.

But if you send internationally there is a fee.
