I am paying for an item £1500. I will be paying for the item via goods and services however the email address he has given me does not match the name of the seller.
What happens if the sale goes bad, i.e he sends me a bag of nails, doesnt send the package, the package is faulty.
Can I still lodge a claim and get my money back?

As long as you pay as goods and service (pay a PayPal invoice, money request, select "Paying for item or service" under the amount field during the payment process via Send and Request tab), you'll have buyer protection.
But please read buyer protection programme as there are limitations, and please do pay with a credit card for extra protection:
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
