Scam?

So someone is trying to pay my account but they are asking for a $50 google play card. I don’t know if i should trust them. So i’m wondering, is it a scam?

Yes well known SCAM, paypal would never expect you to use a rival payment processor OR vouchers/codes to use your paypal account.
