I received a text after making a payment saying: "[PayPal] Did you pay $xxx.xx AUD to xxxxxxxx on 27 December 2019? Reply 1 if yes or 2 if no. [Reply Needed]" My phone automatically had the number as PayPal but once I checked the number that sent it was <removed> I replied 1 as it was correct but I'm concerned now it might be a scam. I'm in Australia by the way.
That can definitely be concerning! PayPal does send text messages to try to help prevent fraud, and if the information regarding the transaction was correct, you shouldn't have any concerns. 🙂 I hope this helps!
