Does PayPal ever send fraud alerts via SMS text messages to cell phones?
I got one today and assumed it was bogus.

Hi @CharlieXray,
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community Forum!
Generally, we may send you an SMS alert if we believe that a transaction may not have been authorised by you. However, we never request you to provide sensitive information or to click on links. Simply, we may ask you to respond to the text to confirm or deny the authorisation to a payment. Additionally, you can verify if the SMS is genuine if the transaction mentioned in the text appears in your PayPal account.
Then, if the transaction is not authorised, please update your password and dispute the payment.
I hope this helps!
Martina
