I received a payment via PayPal credit and the email stated I must ship the item and send shipping details to PayPal before the funds or transaction will be shown in my activity. Is this accurate as I have never received payment this way before.

Sounds suspicious, first, PayPal does not the payment source - they won't tell you that someone paid with a card or PayPal credit or their bank account - you just get paid.   And if you don't have a notice of the payment transaction in your Account Activity section - you didn't get paid.   The email you received is probably a spoof.

Look at the email address domain and wording in the email, grammar, salutation, spelling, etc.  If any of these are questionable, it's most likely a spoof.

* Forward the entire email to:    spoof@paypal.com.
* Do not alter the subject line or forward the message as an attachment.
* Delete the suspicious email from your inbox.
* Never click on any links within the email or open any attachments.
