Receiving funds from Buyer - how am I protected as the Seller?

I am selling on Craigslist and a buyer wants me to send them a payment request through PayPal. Is this legit and am I covered?

That depends on MANY factors all listed in Paypals seller protection policy for you to read so you can risk assess your transactions.
Legal (bottom right of Paypals pages) > user agreement > seller protection.
HOWEVER.........beware of scams.
They ask you to send them a payment request so that they have your name and email address.
Then they can send you FAKE paypal emails saying anything from the funds won't show in your balance until you have emailed them a tracking number TO you have to send a payment to a courier via another payment processor before the funds are credited to your account, both common SCAMS.
So be careful and post back for anymore advice as there are other scams as well.
