Hi, I was wondering if you would allow a nonprofit company use your services for payment to sell raffle tickets.

This is a user to user advice forum and not paypal customer services so its nothing to do with us really.

BUT if you use paypals acceptable use policy raffles are not allowed unfortunately.

First, you may want to read through the Acceptable Use Policy.

PayPal requires pre-approval to accept payments for certain services - although you're a non-profit - selling raffle tickets could be considered a form of gambling.

Here's what PayPal states:

Activities involving gambling, gaming and/or any other activity with an entry fee and a prize, including, but not limited to casino games, sports betting, horse or greyhound racing, fantasy sports, lottery tickets, other ventures that facilitate gambling, games of skill (whether or not legally defined as gambling) and sweepstakes, if the operator and customers are located exclusively in jurisdictions where such activities are permitted by law.

And here's what you may want to do to ensure that what you have in mind is not an issue:

Send contact information, business website URL and brief business summary to:   <removed>

Read this post from a Moderator on this forum. May be worth considering, personally I wouldn't risk it.

Re: Using Paypal for charity raffle ticket sales

Hi aHopeB,

Thanks for posting in relation to this.

I am afraid it is not possible to accept payments for raffle tickets through your PayPal account. I understand that this is for your charity and we do of course allow you to take donations but raffles are prohibited so it is not something I would recommend .

I hope I have answered your question.

Rachael
