I recently received $1,000 gift from a friend and you charged me $30 for receiving the money and then you charge me $10 to instantly deposit my money into my account this is preposterous can you please explain why you take my money $40

Well 'we' don't charge you anything as this is a 'user to user' community forum, however.......

 

Its down to how the payment was SENT to an account.

1. If sent using money > goods / services option then paypal would see the recipient as a seller and charge a fee.

2. If sent using the send money > family / friends option then the recipient would have the payment with no fee. 

As for withdrawing funds its 'free' to a bank account, you get charged to withdraw to a debit card.
