I received a text from this number yesterday <Removed> telling me that my account had been locked and that I had 36 hours to contact a link sent with text message. I accessed my account and found everything to be as it should be. I don't believe this is the normal way for PayPal to communicate with their customers although i could be wrong. As anyone else had this problem. I've blocked the number after calling it and getting no response.

Its a spoof, DO NOT USE ANY LINK.
Firstly if the email/ text addressed you as ''Dear Member'' / ''Customer'' / ''Client'' OR your ''email address'' then that confirms its a spoof as paypal would address you by your full name eg Dear John Smith.
Secondly if there was a link OR attachment in that email link to ''cancel'' any transaction or ''confirm'' any details then again it would be a spoof.
If there was a problem with your account Paypal would not ask you to click on an unsafe link in an email or by downloading an attachment, they would direct you to log in normally and go to the resolution or the message centre for more information.

I received this text message today : Paypal:Your account has been restricted due to a failed payment. Please Login at <removed> to remove any pending restrictions.from mobile number <removed>. I didn't click on the link but logged in securely to check my account an report it.
