Phone notification of transaction can't find online

Hello, maybe I am confused.  My cellphone opened this morning with what certainly looked like a "PP" message, telling me an order confirmation for "The Social Media Mechanic" had just been confirmed in the amount of @ $115US.  The shipping address is one I use, but I don't recognize the particular transaction as one I've authorized recently.  I've logged into my PayPal online account via my desktop.  In Checking Account Activity, I can't find any reference to the transaction, or the amount charged.  In googling "The Social Media Mechanic" I don't see anything that looks familiar.  I am trying to determine if this is some kind of phishing expedition or if my PayPal account via my Android Phone App has been compromised in some fashion.  Thanks for any insights on Android App confirmation messages vs. web login & PayPal site via desktop information.  mlp

If its a spoof, DO NOT USE ANY LINK.

Firstly if the email/ text addressed you as ''Dear Member'' / ''Customer'' / ''Client'' OR your ''email address'' then that confirms its a spoof as paypal would address you by your full name eg Dear John Smith.

Secondly if there was a link OR attachment in that email to ''cancel'' the transaction or ''confirm'' any details then again it would be a spoof.

If there was a problem with your account paypal would not ask you to click on an unsafe link in an email or by downloading an attachment, they would direct you to log in normally and go to the resolution or the message centre for more information.
