Paypal took about 5$ out of my 150$ payment received even though I am not a business.

I spoke to customer service about a payment I did not receive and got it worked out. I now have the payment but paypal took a little less than $5 out of it. I told the representative that the money was for something I sold but I am not a business it was a one time sale. why did they take this much money from me? Doesn't really seem fair.

Hi @lynsibug,
Thank you for your post! I'm sorry that there's any confusion regarding fees. Please click the Fees link at the bottom of the PayPal website for more information. Even if you do not have a Business account, payments received for goods and/or services are subject to fees. If you sold something, a fee would be charged for the receipt of that payment.
I hope this information is helpful.
Olivia
