Paypal Fees

I have a small wager for buying a cup of coffee with a friend in Australia. If he wins I send him $3.00 USD to get himself a cup.

 

We've been doing this for some time and the Paypal fee is usually around $0.04 AUD.

 

Today I sent $3.00USD which meant that he would receive $3.79 AUD and the fee was $3.79 AUD.

 

What changed?
