I would like to receive a payment through Paypal, but I am a little unsure about it. My Paypal account is synced with my bank account, but does a payment go directly into that account, or would I need to do something to redirect the money from Paypal to the bank?

Yeah, you would have to Transfer to bank after the funds arrive in your PayPal Balance.
