I received an email confirming payment, but placing a hold, but the email purportedly from PayPal not PayPal but a box named "confirmmytrackings" at "<Removed>"
Is this legitimate?

Fake email.
Log on directly at PayPal website to see if you have a payment on hold, it's the only way to know for sure. If you do not see payment, then you have not been paid. Even if PayPal puts your payment on temporary hold, there should be a record of payment in your PayPal account with a pending balance shown, that is if the person really paid.
