Hey so I just opened a PayPal account I'm in Canada and someone from the state's wants to send me $2000 but he said I need to purchase a $100 Amazon gift card in order for him to complete the PayPal payment..How true is his,cause I'm not trying to buy a Amazon card to get scammed..I'm not familiar with all this so that's why I'm asking

Its a SCAM, no funds in your paypal balance means no one has paid you anything.
If the payment was pending it would still SHOW in your paypal balance.
Also paypal would not tell you to buy a rival companies gift card or for that matter any gift card for account issues.
Advice is voluntary.
