Mystery fee

I sold an item (friends and family) and 3.49 was taken out of the purchase price—it isn’t an international transaction. Help! Nonibfo by the fee asvyo what the heck it is for!

Its against Paypal rules to sell and accept payment using the friends / family option.

Whilst you are negating your buyers protection as they can't open a Paypal dispute you are also negating your own seller protection as a buyer can still open a dispute for an unauthorised purchase OR a chargeback and if they would win as you would have no seller protection.

Also if you continue to do so then you risk your Paypal account being permanently limited.

Lets hope the fee is because your buyer used the goods / services option.
