Money On Hold

Hello i'm from the dominican republic. I work in a family home helping elderly people. My employers live in the United States and, as is the situation in my country, I preferred this means of payment as for myself, so that I could use the money and make purchases on eBay, I repeat, I am not a seller, I just want to buy. They sent me the money but it is in hold and I don't know how long I will have to wait or if one day I will receive my money. someone please give me a little hope. note I have my paypal account for almost 10 years. but I've never never used it until now

Its down to how the payment was SENT to your account.

1. If they sent using money > goods / services option then paypal would see you as a seller and apply the new seller hold. They would also charge you a fee.

2. If they had sent using the send money > family / friends option then you would have had the payment instantly with no fee. (However that option is not available in every country).

There are however some occasions where friends / family payments are held for reviews but these are normally only 24 hours.

If you don't have the friends / family option in your country then you would be subject to the new sellers hold as per link below even though you are not a seller as that is the only option available to send funds in your country.
