A very close friend received one of the "We noticed a new login... from a device we don't recognize." They changed the password immediately, and nothing was touched or stolen that we know of, but the hacker obviously snooped through everything. Based on the location of IP it gave, we suspect it was someone who knew my friend and has it out for them. My friend is too afraid to followup with an investigation, nor would either of us know how to go about it anyways.
I want to know how PayPal can help them/us. What further information can they provide to law enforcement about the hack, and how to begin reporting it. Hopefully if I can get enough of a plan set out, I can convince my friend to follow through to protect themselves from further attempts.
