I have just received an email from PayPal with an embedded link asking me to click on it to confirm my identity.
Contact with PayPal advised that the email was NOT spam, however, isn't this bad practice? Normally one should be asked to log onto their account directly, not via an embedded link.
Am I being too paranoid?

No your right that is pretty dreadful security wise.
They should tell you to log in normally to your paypal account and then view a message in there.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

Who confirmed that it is not spam? Maybe it’s a scam? PayPal surprises me that they imbed links when they know that fraud is prevalent.
