I am just starting out and not sure if some new customers may want to pay via paypal instead of cash as i pay upfront for my orders. Just wanted to give them the option of paying me through paypal if they have it. I am not sure if I need to have a business acct or not.

No you don't. You can sell on a personal account.
You only need a business account if you are a registered business OR high volume seller OR individual seller and prefer to use one for the extra selling options.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
