ID linked to paypal, safe to show?

So i was going to buy a game account and the middleman asked me to show my paypal profile and original id ( passport ) assosciated with the paypal account, to prove its my own account. Is it safe to show both paypal profile n id?

Its none of their business, the whole point of paypal is to keep your personal information confidential.
