How do I sell something on Craig's List and accept payment? What is the process start to finish?

I am trying to understand the process of selling stuff on craig's list.

1 - Advertise Product and potential buyer contacts me.

2 - Then what? If they like product and want to pay, what do I do?

3 - Do I wait for payment before giving them the item?
