Hi,

I requested and received  $300 from my mom.  I received $291 and when I transferred the money into my debit card I was left with only $288.09.    Why????

Firstly paypal saw you as a seller as you 'requested' the funds.

If your mother had used the send money > family / friends option then there would have been no fee.

Secondly you must have transfered the funds to a debit card and not a linked bank account.

If you use the faster method of a debit card then there is a fee, if you had withdrawn to a bank account it would have been free.
