Some days ago I send 725 Euro to a friend in Chile. I was not paying attention and paid in USD. Conversion should be about 835 USdollars. Paypal counts 793 USdollars. Profit for PP 42 USdollars (about 35 Euros). My friend in Chile received CLP 494.208, but after conversion, 793 USdollars should be about CLP 536.000. Profit for PP about CLP 42.000 (about 54 Euros). Total profit for PP is about 89 Euros. So it is easy to transfer money abroad. It is for Paypal even easier to make an easy and substantial profit. The fee is about 12%!!! So I'll never do it again. My bank is cheaper. And nowhere, not when you send the money, not in your account overview, you can see what the profit is for PayPal. In my opinion, it is not a fee, it is greed.
