Fake paypal

Hi

I found something on an ebay clasified add i wanted, but the seller said he was away so couldnt veiw, However id be covered by paypals distance buying  protection, which checked out. when it came to pay it appears they had set up a sophisticated fake paypal site thrrough which i paid, i ve not had the machine or any contact since paying.

paypal and ebay dont seem interested. 

any thoughts or ideas on a useful way forward would be much appreciated

Sadly if you didn't use paypal to pay then there would be nothing paypal could do for you.

If you funded that payment via a credit card then maybe contact your card issuer for a chargeback?
