Fake PayPal transfer email.

Surely if someone asks to end an eBay auction early and sends details to send them a PayPal money transfer request, then you get a fake email to say the request has been successfully made, is fraud and is a police matter? The person has sent an address for goods to be sent to, can't they check it out?

Police would not be interested as its a civil matter.

Normally however the address to send the item to is in another country so any private legal action would not be possible.
