Fake PayPal email sent, what are some safety precautions I could do?

Hi there! Sorry if this is not the place to put it.

I just got an email saying that I had made a purchase for Cuff Toque With T-MAX Lining for $32.99 USD from "KMart". This was sent from "PayPal Receipt". I looked at my actual PayPal purchases and all REAL PayPal purchases come as "PayPal".

Obviously this looked suspicious since we dont even have a K-Mart around locally and even if we did I'd probably just go to the store myself.

Since I already knew that I made no such purpose, this scammer person has my email. I checked my actual PayPal for any suspicious activities, and so far it looks like nothing is fishy and all activity is something I had done.

If you guys could tell me what I need to do to ensure I wont get hacked or anything let me know. I will see what I can do with the fake PayPal emailer and block him or something.

Below is a screenshot of what this fake dude sent me.

Thanks!

If its a spoof, DO NOT USE ANY LINK.

Firstly if the email/ text addressed you as ''Dear Member'' / ''Customer'' / ''Client'' OR your ''email address'' then that confirms its a spoof as paypal would address you by your full name eg Dear John Smith.

Secondly if there was a link OR attachment in that email link to ''cancel'' any transaction or ''confirm'' any details then again it would be a spoof.

If there was a problem with your account Paypal would not ask you to click on an unsafe link in an email or by downloading an attachment, they would direct you to log in normally and go to the resolution or the message centre for more information.
