Email scam

I received an email saying I added a different email to my account.  I feel it is another scam but I need to be sure.  Has this happened to anyone else and if so what did Paypal say

Easy to tell if its a spoof or not, go and log into your paypal account NOT using any links in that email.

Click on the cog icon next to log out and see what email addresses you have listed in there.
