Ebay distancing from paypal.

Hi all - just recieved notification from ebay that they're starting to distance their platform from paypal. As a small seller, I've relied on paypal as a seller for protection, should an item get lost/stolen/damaged in transit. After discussing the issue with ebay online, I was informed that there is no option for this protection via ebay. Is this correct? Or do I wind up my selling on ebay? Losses in transit are unacceptable to me, and paypal has saved me many times in the past.
I'm very surprised that ebay won't/can't offer the same protection to sellers, and that their chat staff cannot confirm that its available. Am I missing something?
Thanks in advance.

As ebay is a completely different company then you would need to ask on ebay forums what protection you can get with their new payment system.
We can only advise on paypal protection if and when you use it.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
