I am trying to register a business profile as I would like to receive payments. It asks for most used currency and the SA Rand is not an option. What do I do to get it into SA Rand please?

Afraid you can't, paypal does not support the Rand.
It happens. Hit the "Login to Ask the community" button to create a question for the PayPal community.
