Hi - a customer in India sent $651 of which I received $581. Normally service fees only come to 5%. Also I received the money in shekels and not in dollars. I’m not sure why I received so much less than she sent; maybe it’s connected to the fact that she is in India? Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi Preemo10,
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community forum!
In general, when you receive a payment you may face additional fees such as conversion fees or cross border fees. The exchange rate in your Country includes a 2.5% fee above the wholesale exchange rate at which PayPal obtains foreign currency. Additionally, if the buyer is from India, the fee to be applied would be 5.4% + fixed fee, which depends on the currency received.
Here is more information.
I hope this helps!
Martina
