Hi, I sent 7.99 to my new account, using my bank account. I was charged 0.53 for this transaction, and also had my payment put on hold. I don't understand why I would be charged a fee for sending money to myself. Can anyone help me resolve this?

You likely by mistake forgot to indicate that it was a friends and family payment, hence you sent a commercial payment to yourself and was charged a PayPal fee of 2.9% + 30 cents and commercial payments maybe subject to 21 days hold if you never received a commercial or goods and services payment before. To release the hold, log in to your receiving account, click "Add Tracking" and update the order status to Order Processed or Service Rendered and then in your sending account confirm the transaction.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

Thank you. But, is it possible to waive the fee, because my payment is not a commercial payment?
